Hairdressers Scissors

Today these are produced in mainly two countries: Germany (Solingen Steel) and Japan (Cobalt steel and titanium). The Japanese scissors are preferred by hairdressers and German by most Barbers. They vary enormously in price especially the Japanese scissors from £stg50 up to £1000 approx per pair !

Hairdressers, like the rest of us, can be right or left-handed so we keep both in stock. The Japanese scissors not only cut perfectly but they are beautiful to look at and handle in bright shiny steel or coloured metal (Titanium).

The screw holding the two blades together can be a conventional screw (which would need a screwdriver to tighten or slacken the blades) or it can have a finger tightening screw with a leaf under the screw which is gilted in Gold - this is called in the trade "leaf spring tension". The screw may have coloured Jewels embellishing them in "Ruby red" "Aqua-Marine-Blue"
"Opal-green" etc

A hairdresser handles his/her scissors up to eight hours per day, 6 days a week so being comfortable with them is very important as well as the beauty of them-the bottom line though is how well and how long they cut. Ours are all proved and individually tested. They range from £35.00 to £350.00 including VAT. dependant upon sales volume-direct sale or resale and are normally delivered to the hairdresser free for him /her to test.
